Who is Harrow Mental Health Service for?

This service is for adults aged 18 and above who have mental health problems and are registered with a Harrow GP.

What does the service provide?

We provide a wide range of community recovery services for adults and their families/carers that include:

  • CNWL Recovery College
  • community outreach
  • community recovery teams
  • early intervention teams
  • psychotherapy services, including memory assessment service


Following a referral the Harrow Mental Health Service team identify and agree a brief package of care that may include one of the following:

  • Assessment and brief treatment service e.g. talking treatment or supervised medication.
  • Referral to another type of mental health service, e.g. Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT), Primary Care Counselling or Wellbeing Centres Service, e.g. community recovery team.

How do I access the service?

Referrals can be made by health professionals such as a GP or social workers.

Adults who are referred to the service must have complex mental health and social care needs that require longer term multi-disciplinary interventions or treatments.

Any referral that does not meet the threshold will be signposted to other local services, such as voluntary sector partners, or redirected back to the original referrer.
