Who are the Youth Development Team ?
The Youth Development Team supports the personal and emotional development of young people between the ages of 11-19, including their participation and contribution to their communities and their readiness for adult life. Young people with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities receive support up to 24 years of age.
What does the service provide?
We target the most vulnerable young people such as those who are Looked After, Leaving Care, Asylum Seeking, known to the Youth Offending Team and / or young people that are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) Support is offered through:
- A range of targeted group based activities for young people.
- Detached and outreach youth work.
- Individual mentoring with young people.
- Projects which promote youth participation in community activity, Social Action projects and volunteering.
- Ensuring employment readiness.
How do I access the service?
The Team operates two specific youth projects for SEND young people:
Shaftesbury School (in Hatch End) - Mondays 7-9pm
Wealdstone Youth Centre - Saturdays 1-3pm
Both projects are available in term time only, with other specific projects operating through the school holidays.
