Who is Harrow SEND Information, Advice and Support Service for?
(Formerly Harrow Parent Partnership Service) Family Action Harrow SEND Information, Advice and Support Service offers impartial, independent advice and support to families living in Harrow with a son or daughter up to age 25 who has special educational needs or a disability (SEND).
We work with parents and carers as well as young people themselves to help develop and maintain good relationships with schools, colleges, the local authority and others in order to secure the best outcomes for the person with SEND.
What does the service provide?
We aim to empower parents, carers and young people to achieve their full potential by promoting a partnership approach between families, schools and other agencies. We firmly believe that parents, carers and young people have to be active participants in decisions made about their education, health and care and we work closely with other professionals to ensure that families’ voices are heard.
We provide families with confidential, accurate, impartial, information advice on SEND and education, including moving from one school to another and exclusion.
We offer families support on their rights, roles and responsibilities within the SEND diagnosis and statutory assessment process as well as throughout education, up to the age of 25.
We support families via our telephone helpline, email, 1:1 meetings, school and college meetings and attendance at events for families.
How do I access the service?
Meetings at our offices or schools can be made by appointment.
